PSP Tools and Tips

I hope that this section will help you to understand a little about the functions of the tools and pallettes in Paint Shop Pro.  It can all be overwhelming and intimidating for a beginner; I know because I was a beginner too.  This is not extremely detailed, but will give you some of the basics.


THE TOOL PALLETTE


  Zoom Tool

Used to enlarge your image for working in small areas.
  Deformation Tool

Used to resize, reshape and rotate images. Remember to Sharpen your images after using the deformation because some of the quality will be lost.
  Crop Tool

Used when you only want to keep a certain area of your image.
  Mover Tool

Used to move selections or layers.
  Selection Tool

Used to select certain areas of your image.
  Freehand Tool

Used to make irregular shaped selections in your image.
  Magic Wand Tool

Used to make selections by color.
  Eye Dropper Tool

Used to select foreground and background colors from your image.
  Paint Brush Tool

Used for freehand painting, or for using custom brushes.
  Clone Tool

Used to copy one part of an image to another location.
  Color Replacer Tool

Uses colors in your styles pallette to replace one color with another.
  Retouch Tool

Used to lighten, darken or make other changes and corrections to parts of an image.
  Scratch Remover Tool

Used to remove scratches, cracks or other flaws from photographs.
  Eraser Tool

Used to erase parts of your image. Especially useful when creating picture tubes.
  Picture Tube Tool

Used to insert objects into your image.
  Airbrush Tool

Used to create the effects of using a spray can or airbrush.
  Flood Fill Tool

Used to fill a selection with a solid color, gradient or pattern.
  Text Tool

Used to add text to your image.
  Drawing Tool

Used to draw straight, freehand or curved lines.
  Zoom Tool

Used to draw shapes on an image, such as rectangles, hearts and many others.
  Object Selector Tool

Used to move, rotate, stretch and resize vector objects.
