Gaussian Blur Frame
This tutorial was written using PSP7, but can probably be done in earlier versions with a few adjustments.
** Remember to save your work often! **
1. Open the image you wish to frame. If you would like to use this one, right click and save it to your computer
2. Hit Shift - D on your keyboard twice to make two copies of the image. Close the original.
3. Using the first copy, go to Effects - Plugin Filters - FM Tile Tools - Seamless Tile. Leave the settings as they are. Click OK. Repeat this step, this time make sure Vertical is checked. Click OK. Minimize this image.
4. Now using the other copy, go to Image - Add Borders. Make sure Symmetric is checked and 20 is in all of the boxes. Click OK.
5. Using the Magic Wand , Tolerence and Feather set to 0 and Sample Merged UNchecked, click on the border. Set your foreground to texture and select the minimized copy of your image as your pattern (scale 100 - angle 0). Flood fill the border.
6. Now go to Effects - Blur - Gaussian Blur and set the radius at 20.00. Click OK.
7. Go to Selections - Invert.
8. Go to Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout and use these settings:
Color Black
Opacity 90
Blur 4
Vertical and Horizontal 2
9. Go to Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow and use these settings:
Color Black
Opacity 100
Blur 5
Vertical and Horizontal 3
10. Go to Selections - Select None.
11. Repeat steps 4 through 10 but this time DO NOT apply the Gaussian Blur.
12. Repeat steps 4 through 7. Go to Image - Effects - Inner Bevel and use these settings:
13. Selections - Select None. Go to Image - Resize (I resized mine by 75%).
14. Go to Image - Sharpen - Sharpen.
Here is our finished image.
