Adding Picture Frames in PSP
People have asked me how to add picture frames in .pfr format to Paint Shop Pro. Here are the simple steps for doing so.
1. For frames that you have downloaded from websites, unzip them to your PSP Frames folder. If you keep them in a different folder, or sub-folder, you will need to edit the path so that PSP can find them. The screen shots below show you how to do that.
2. In PSP 7, go to File - Preferences - File Locations. Click on the "Frames" tab. The first box should be your PSP Frames folder. Click the Browse button beside the second box and locate your other frames folder. Click OK.
** NOTE ** If you organize them into sub-folders (for example, by the person that created them), be sure to check "Use sub folders".
3. In PSP 6, as far as I know, you will have to place all of your frames into your PSP 6 Frames folder. If I am wrong about this, someone please let me know.
4. To add frames that you create, merge layers visible once you are finished with the frame. This will keep the inside of the frame transparent. Go to File - Save As and type in a name for your frame. Be sure to include the .pfr extension when naming it so it will be saved properly ("jd-frame1.pfr" instead of just "jd-frame"). Make sure you save it to the correct folder. This applies to both PSP 6 and PSP 7.
See - I told you it was simple :-)
